The Heart of Texas Chapter of Free Republic had our first meeting of 2006 at Kruez's BBQ in Lockhart. We had 16 freepers and lurkers present. Along with some good BBQ...no sauce and no forks...we dicussed current events and upcoming opportunities to freep. DrewsDad led us in a reflection on Earth Day and its' origins followed by the burning of flags.

We enjoyed meeting a lot of new folks and hearing first hand accounts from some new area freepers relocated from New Orleans.

We will be planning a May meeting and hope to have the details out soon. It may coincide with a freeper opportunity so keep an eye out for the announcement.

Also, we elected a nominating committee to elect new officers for 2006/2007. Hopefully those will be presented at the May meeting.

If you attended and wish to post other comments or pictures please chime in. We missed a lot of our active members but they were out being active freepers! Hope to see everyone at the next meeting.
