Thank you. 4 years apprenticeship, including night classroom training in blueprints, specifications, building code requirements, construction math, basic surveying, and construction economics, after working in the field by day, to become a journeyman carpenter is NOT "unskilled jobs few Americans want or seek". Same for fellow-crafts (some even more so) electrician, plumber, mason, roofer, heavy equipment operator.
Agriculture? Don't forget, chicken plants, meat packing, and canneries are also "agriculture". I worked with older nurses who did seasonal work "chicken shopping" to earn their nursing school tuition.
The only truely 'unskilled job' seems to be Congresscritter: Any con man with a gift of rabble-rousing gab, a penchant for sleaze, unlimited greed, a total disregard for the truth, and unmitigated gall can get themselves elected.
Fortunately, there are many others who run against them. Some even, against all odds, manage to get elected.
