The Illinois General Assembly is about to rock the nation. Members of state legislatures are normally not considered as having the ability to decide issues with a massive impact to the nation as a whole. Representative Karen A. Yarbrough of Illinois' 7th District is about to shatter that perception forever. Representative Yarbrough stumbled on a little known and never utlitized rule of the US House of Representatives, Section 603 of Jefferson's Manual of the Rules of the United States House of Representatives, which allows federal impeachment proceedings to be initiated by joint resolution of a state legislature. From there, Illinois House Joint Resolution 125 (hereafter to be referred to as HJR0125) was born.

The moonbats have discovered another impeachment procedure. Mark my words: if the Democrats win in November, their first order of business will to impeach Bush and put him on trial in the Senate.

Impeachment proceedings for doing what exactly?
To: goldstategop
Let them, for if it goes forward, it'll ensure the Democrats brief reign of error will be the last for the next 50 years.

At the bottom of the article, the author has the resolution in question posted. All the "charges" are listed there.
The one they think might 'stick' is domestic spying. What a load!

What you are saying is absolutely correct.
One of the reasons its is important to keep Cheney in office. They ahte Cheney more than Bush. If the unthinkable happens - and they can only blame rising oil prices and Bush's wacko border policies - the Dems won't actually vote to remove him with Cheney in office.
Besides, I believe Cheney would be a far more effective Presient and proponent of a conservative Republican agenda.

So once the charges are brought up the House must immediately put it before any other legislation? So if it happens and the House votes not to impeach on the grounds they brought up then that should be the end of that. Please try it looney moonbats.

I hope the "sit on their hands in November to teach them a lesson on immigration" 'Conservatives' around here read this.

The domestic spying is such a non-issue. Further, it's a PR disaster for the Dims. Spying on terrorists? Oh, that's just awful...
Just another attempt by liberals to go after Bush while once again revealing them to be as disinterested in national security as ever.

These lunatic asses really think the rest of the nation (50 states, last time I checked) give a rat's behind what THEY think? Me thinks they've started to believe their own press. How arrogant, self involved, and, above all, delusional can they get?
Don't they know this has already been broached in, I believe it was, the Senate---and the idiot suggesting it couldn't even get his own party to back him? It continues to amaze me how ANYONE could vote for a Democrat!!

Every party has their "one issue wonders". I mean, I don't agree with the Prez on immigration, but I'm sure not willing to toss "the baby with the bath water" and elect a bunch of dimwits like the ones noted in the above article.

So what exactly is your point? Not surprised you couldn't grasp it; the point is, these are the people you'll be putting into power. And please, spare me the "I'm not doing it it's the Republicans" rationalization.

Well put. I'm in the same position, re: immigration. But I sure as hell am not going to sink my country while I sit there, arms crossed, having my little temper tantrum.
Those who think there's no big difference between these two parties on immigration have been reading the MSM crap they're usually blasting, yet they quote the MSM like it's Bible verse on THIS issue. And they will be our undoing, while the Democrats laugh at their childishness...and institute THEIR version of Immigration Reform.
Those 'Republicans' will of course be the first to complain about the Dems when that happens, too, and never think to look in the mirror when searching for who's to blame.

Go look at the posted document. Your "issue" isn't listed anywhere in it.
