That's not completely correct. In the modern Jewish calendar, in the month of Iyar that begins next weekend, Yom Ha Zikaron and Yom Ha'Azmut have acquired cultural significance. They're the only holidays to be added to the Jewish calendar outside the Torah since Purim since they commemorate the Holocaust dead and the establishment of Israel.
