Look at this. Back in December, Jack Wheeler thought that a CIA weasel leaked the intel to John McCain who then leaked it to the Washington Post. Hummmmmmmm. We may want to pursue this angle further.

How upset are you over the CIA “secret prison scandal”? Maybe you said, “What scandal?”, or maybe you’ve glanced at stories about it carried in the back pages of your newspaper. Here in Europe, it’s the giant screaming front page headline story on every paper you pick up from England to Germany.
The Europeans are in a state of high emotional froth over CIA “renditions” of Moslem terrorists seized in one of their countries and taken to a “secret prison” in Poland or elsewhere. The Euroweenies are far more concerned with the “human rights” of the terrorists than they are about the threat of terrorists to kill them.
If you think all of this is just an excuse to bash the CIA and indulge in anti-Americanism, you’re right just as planned by the weasels.
Everyone on the right, it seems nowadays, from the editorials in the Wall Street Journal to conservative columnists like Mona Charen and bloggers like John Hinderacker, are issuing calls to “Investigate the CIA!” They have been suckered by the left.
They should instead be demanding, “Investigate the weasels, not the agency!” All of them have been accusing the CIA of conducting a covert war against the Bush Administration by leaking damaging classified information to leftwing journalists in the press. That the most damaging leak of all to date, the “secret prisons” story leaked to the Washington Post, is incredibly damaging to the CIA itself has not given them pause.
Why would the CIA conduct a covert war against itself? Because the agency is now being run by an ally of George Bush who is trying to root out left wing “rogue weasels” from its midst: Porter Goss.
You could call it, as some of the good guys at Langley are starting to, the Rogue Weasel Club. According to one member of the intel community, its members include:

Mary O. McCarthy's name would probably also be on the above list if she had been a "former" CIA analyst.
Unless people are sent to prison Party Interests and competition will come before National Interests.

Libs have one simple rule: anything that undermines Republicans and/or national security for the sake of power is just fine and dandy. I'm serious. With as many problems as the Republicans have, they are dwarfed by the calamity that is the Democratic Party. And it now appears that a number of people in our intelligence and military have direct pipelines and own allegiance to the Donkey Party and their lib flunkies. The Fifth Column Party is a better term for them.
Putting that aside, the discovery of McCarthy does make you wonder how many more of her ilk have squirreled themselves into the bureaucracy, from where they seek to undermine the country.
This has been the left's MO for a long time in government, education, and media alike. It's been a three-way power play.
One big problem we have is that Republican "leadership" lives in such fear of angering Democrats and their media that they enable the behavior.
In the past an incident like this would have led to plea bargaining which would have led to a whole nest of rats being drowned, but after the Sandy Berger incident she can safely conclude that only empty threats will be made to persuade her to talk.

Ah, what leaps of faith, what excuses for the Bushies not cleaning houses in 2001. Who here remembers that their favourite president denied at the time that there was any vandalism by the departing Klintonites. There are about 3,000 political appointments available to any administration. Whether or not the McCarthy woman was one of them we don't know, but if she was, one of the couple of dozen or a few dozen that the President himself makes should have cleaned house. He didn't! The hugs and appointments the Toonites have received from this administration and the Bush family, and the slap on the wrist that Sandy Burglar received, speak for themselves. Barbara Bush's adopted son indeed! Payback from scumbags!

Mr. Levin makes two great points here. Why would anyone get an award for "journalism" when all they did was to "take dictation" from a perfectly willing source? It isn't like Priest had to dodge shot and shell to get the information. Hell, she didn't even have to hide in the parking garage to meet with "Deep Throat". So the award, in a real sense, was either intended for McCarthy, to show her how appreciated, loved and (if need be) protected she was. The same would apply to Priest, of course, in the sense that if she got tossed in the pokey along with McCarthy, she would have (in addition to an all expense paid legal "dream team") the protection of the "Pulitzer Prize Winner" moniker.
