I am pretty sure most freepers in that paragraph above are not going to speak up.

I am pretty sure most freepers would not be in that paragraph. For all our differences, we seem to have a respect for the law around here.

Really? Then why does it seem an awful lot of posts on FR scream, round them up and deport.

I see a lot of posts calling for deportation, but I must be missing the 'awful lot' of calls for mass roundups. I do hear the idea bandied about as some kind of threat by an awful lot of people who are against deportation. It's just like the cry that recent proposed legislation would "make a criminal of Jesus" and similar fear-mongering distortions.

Actually in the proposed law it would criminalize some Christian charities.

I saw a poster on FR say they made a mistake, he basically said that the law should have proposed giving humanitarin aid to an illegal should have been a misdemeanor.

You mean like the organization calling itself "Christian" that was caught smuggling illegals?

LOL! I was thinking the exact same thing!

My husband and I, our friends, and our families are among that 80% who support a secure border. And every one of us does our own labor and gardening, and have no need or desire to hire illegal aliens. In fact, we've thrived in doing "the work no Americans will do."

Now, don't cross your arms across your chest and say you don't believe...

Actually, the reaction was my jaw dropping at the absurdity of you trying to tell me what I think and believe--and being so utterly wrong.

Did you happen to see the current OC Metro business magazine (http://www.churmpublishing.com/)?

Classic misdirection provided via one of the cover stories "Ethnic Entrepreneurs: Immigrants and their offspring help power OC’s world-class economy."

Then proceed to the Publisher's Note that begins:

"Time is Ticking
Immigration compromise is best option yet.

BY STEVE CHURM

It’s time to stop the nonsense and adopt some sort of federal legislation that addresses in a meaningful way the immigration mess that threatens our economy locally and nationally and is tearing at our social fabric as a country. Hanging in the balance are an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants, the vast majority of them working in low-paying jobs critical to key industries like tourism and hospitality, agriculture, construction and domestic services, including housecleaning and landscaping. Nowhere are illegal immigrants more deeply woven into the landscape than here in Southern California. They are part of an underground economy that is helping drive the spectacular growth in the region’s six major counties, including here in Orange County."

See also OC Metro's poll, "Should illegal immigrants be treated as felons?" It was running 33.3 Yes and 66.7 No.

What is blatantly omitted is the word "illegal" immigration and any time the OC METRO wants to pony up the TEN BILLION A YEAR that it costs us to allow illegals to stay in CA let me know. LOL

Leave that gated community much?

I don't live in a gated community.

You seem utterly surprised by human hypocrisy. You must not get out of your gated community much.

I have been posting on this site for years. If you don't know my positions by now, your not trying. I have indeed voted for mostly Republicans in every election since 1982.
