It is NOT just supply and demand this time. Where there were hurricanes, etc. interruping supply, the higher prices made sense, but this time, the prices began rising rapidly even BEFORE crude oil prices rose. In fact, when the spike began crude prices were down.
Secondly, the citizens what to know WHY, and the republicans leading efforts to get to the core reasons is a SMART move...because the DEMS WILL and they are already making gas prices a campaign issue.
The gasoline shortage is caused by lack of refining capability, not lack of crude. Gasoline is being produced at a steady rate, but demand fluctuations cause price fluctuations.
"...because the DEMS WILL and they are already making gas prices a campaign issue."
It's the democraps constituants that are being hurt by high gas prices.
Personally I would benefit if prices went even higher and a lot of the democraps constituants got parked by lack of funds to fuel their cars and greatly improved traffic.
