Wang Wenyi, 47, had obtained temporary press credentials as a reporter for a Falun Gong newspaper and positioned herself on a camera stand.
According to Secret Service translations provided in court documents, she shouted in Chinese: "Stop oppressing the Falun Gong," as well as "Your Time is running out," and "Anything you have done will come back to you in this lifetime." She also shouted in heavily accented English: " President Bush, stop him from killing," and "President Bush, stop him from persecuting the Falun Gong."

no , I honestly believe that only the United States military can ultimately bring freedom to the Chinese at this point.

I would have to see the actual laws in play before I form an opinion on the charges. All evidence points to this woman being criminally charged for expressing views that made the administration uncomfortable. Plead ignorance all you like, but don't get all upset when no one wants to play along.

Too bad the military is at the whim of politicians who talk about freedom while they ignore the problems. Too bad they are working overtime to take ours away. I think the ChiComs need a good ass whipping and we are the only ones able to do the dirty work.

Plead ignorance all you like, but don't get all upset when no one wants to play along. Nothing you post could possibly upset me. I consider debate on these boards the ultimate in entertainment.

"Get over it" is not a statement that someone would say out of being entertained. You're put off by the fact that someone made Bush uncomfortable in his own hypocrisy about fighting tyranny. Ain't that just a shame.

If someone had shouted stuff at Khruschev or Brezhnev when they visited this country on an official visit, wouldn't the same thing have happened?

"This isn't about freedom of speech. No one is saying she can't have freedom of speech. This is about an inappropriate behavior in a forum where losing face could have consequences beyond our shores. "
I agree.

Parents, or leaders will typically scold a petulant child. Perhaps they will be grounded, or do a "time-out."
They don't beat them or lock them up.
The punishment should fit the crime, and I believe community service for Wenyi Wang is appropriate.
I believe she should have to talk about her crime and explain why she spoke out in such an uncivilized manner. :)

"Get over it" is not a statement that someone would say out of being entertained. How would you know?
I pounded it out on my keyboard and then gave a big laugh when I hit the send key.
This is ALL FUN to me.
You're put off by the fact that someone made Bush uncomfortable in his own hypocrisy about fighting tyranny. Ain't that just a shame.
Keep dreamin.
Bush is a great leader who is doing more to fight tyranny around the world in REAL TERMS than ANY deranged little gate-crasher who thinks disrupting a public function to shout her grievances EVER could do.
And the idea that you think Bush lives in your distorted little world and feels "uncomfortable" because of delusions that exist in your little mind, is just laughable.
Get a grip.

But the fact that you decided to spout the ChiCom line and characterize her as such does indeed show how uncomfortable you are with all this.

You should try responding to what I actually say instead of inventing these childish abstractions based on what you HOPE is true...and what position you can assign me that best fits your argument.

Respond to what? Your claims of ignorance over what's right in front of your face? You already said that you refuse to form a judgment, which is just another way of saying you want to avoid coming to an unsettling conclusion. There's nothing left to debate beyond that.

I see Democrats doing it all the time to President Bush. Oh well, we wouldn't want China to get mad and increase our trade deficit.
