I must say, I was disappointed in the President.
President Reagan would have smiled, said something about this being America , land of free speech,, then apologized to the Premier for the interruption of his speech, and continued on. The heckler would have been escorted off the White House grounds, issue over.

President Bush got the deer in the headlights look, and his staff are blowing it by seeking prosecution of this lady for daring to speak up. Calling a communist dictator to task is not cause for a jail sentence, it used to get people medals.

She should have been escorted off much faster. It was embarrassing for our country. There is a place for protesting, but I do not think it is where the object is the officially invited guest of the President of the United States.

Exactly right.

The episode lessens the Bush legacy...yet again. By charging this guy...it makes them look like fools. My guess is that a fed judge will look at the heckler for about 30 seconds and then smile as he says 24 hours in the local jail...and then suspends the punishment. And then the judge will turn to the cameras and say that freedom of speech outweighs this law by a ton.

I would say Bush is on a run...since Katrina...downhill. He is still a hundred times better than Kerry...but considering there are two years to go and how many screwups they've done recently...I don't see a great finish to this term.
