As for the comment "your days are numbered", That was the statement that led to the charges. Had she not said that she might have been given a pass. She personally threatened a head of state. Not too smart. She deserves what she gets.

She personally threatened a head of state. Not too smart. She deserves what she gets. That's a load of crap. "Your days are numbered" is a statement of fact or opinion, not a threat. If you start a fight based on this statement being considered "fighting words" or a threat the DA would eat you alive.

"your days are numbered" could mean any number of things from "I'm going to kill you" (highly unlikely from a little old lady) to "we will oust you from your position" to "some day you won't be around any more". Unless she was brandishing a weapon, I don't see it as a threat.

Pure BS and as usual most do not get the point. If I wanted to protest anyone in the USA I could do it in many ways. But to protest the barbarism of THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA and make people in the US and the world aware of it I would have to go for the audience she did. Most people known nothing of the sale of organs, the rape of Tibet, the slaughter of baby girls or the slavery of political prisoners. We Freepers might know, but sometimes our knowledge of such things is done with an arrogance. By arrogance I mean fellow freepers feel saying it or repeating it is a waste of band space since we freepers already know the mantra. Alas this is not true here or out in the real world. China does very evil things to its own population and the world lets them ride. The libertine in us seems to excuse much for the sake of trade and profit. But the morality of true Conservatives and even liberals should look at this with disgust. Even libertarians do not understand this issue. In a truly libertarian's world with actions such as the Chinese goverment uses, trade would not proceed. Read your Rothbard. Trade with a slave state makes you a slaver. No excuses. In the great libertarian private court in the sky your trade with China would be actionable by the Chinese that sought restituition and we would all have to pay

I'm not convinced she was threatening him personally, with bodily harm etc. I believe she meant his tenure, his regime, communist philosophy.....are numbered.
That said, it's unfortunate because she made good points and hit Hu right between the eyes (so to speak), which he isn't used to.
Hopefully, she'll have a good lawyer and will get off, have charges greatly reduced and do community service, etc.
