"To bad Clinton vetoed opening up ANWR back in 1995. It would be nice to have 1mbd flowing down right about now."

I wish that's all the damage that was done on this issue under Clinton. Not only did our dependency on foreign oil increase by over 40% under Clinton, but he also turned the largest clean coal deposit on earth into a national park. Because of the bureaucratic and ecological hurdles currently in place, oil companies figure that the cost of building a single new refinery in the US is over $2Billion.
