This is a double-edged sword, though... No doubt this will also put a chill over some of the sources of Bill Gertz, who has shed light on China's military ambitions and anti-US strategies...
So, is it being hypocritical to support leaks to Bill Gertz (which arguably work to bolster the national security) while disparaging those to the NY Times and Washington Post (which typically work to damage national security)?
Not if your objective is improving national security rather than merely encouraging across-the-board government secrecy...

Bill Gertz said today on CSPAN with Brian Lamb, that he does not publish classified information, but public info.

Gertz has access. Priest does not.

I've long wondered what Gertz motive for leaking supposed classified info was. Someone have an axe to grind?. Someone trying to manipulate national security focus? All very interesting, and a little scary. I personally find it criminal to leak classified info.
