Mary was Larry Johnson's boss? Whoa!
How would we ever describe all this to people on the "outside" who have no idea what's going on?
"Hey everybody - check out Strata-sphere - he has Larry Johnson ADMITTING that Mary McCarthy was his BOSS at CIA!!!"
I was just doing some research on Larry and others.
Here are some tidbits on Larry:
From 1985 through September 1989 Mr. Johnson worked for the Central Intelligence Agency. During his distinguished career, he received training in paramilitary operations, worked in the Directorate of Operations, served in the CIA’s Operation’s Center, and established himself as a prolific analyst in the Directorate of Intelligence. In his final year with the CIA he received two Exceptional Performance Awards.
From 1989 until October 1993, Larry Johnson served as a Deputy Director in the U.S. State Department’s Office of Counter Terrorism.

For any reasonable government employee working in any of our intelligence agencies to compliment a co-worker's criminal release of classified information in a time of war and to actually say that her actions are in "the finest traditions of the Republic" illustrates just how depraved and psychologically dilusional they are, and just how much trouble we're in. God help us and save us from these nuts.

The case against the CIA Intelligence Officer, Mary McCarthy, fired for her alleged role in leaking information about secret prisons to the Washington Post’s Dana Priest smells a little fishy. Let me state at the outset that the officer in question, Mary McCarthy, is an old acquaintance. I hasten to add that I do not consider her a friend. She was my immediate boss in 1988-89 and was instrumental in my decision to leave the CIA and take a job at the State Department’s Office of Counter Terrorism.
Larry seems to be trying to put some distance between his old boss and himself! Wonder why? Well, Larry’s big mouth is proving to be quite enlightening:
That said, I take no delight in the news that she was fired. In fact, there are some things about the case that puzzle me. For starters, Mary never worked on the Operations side of the house. In other words, she never worked a job where she would have had first hand operational knowledge about secret prisons.
Buy yourself a clue Larry, she was tipped by others who hoped her position in the IG’s office would insulate her from detection. Duh! Why am I not surprised Larry once worked for Mary.
