President Bush begins his four-day visit to California today. Here is his schedule.
FRIDAY (4/21)
Visits Cisco Systems in San Jose and talks with Silicon Valley executives about the American Competitiveness Initiative. After this even is when Governor schwarzenegger says he'll make a direct appeal to the president for federal help to repair the state's levees.
SATURDAY (4/22)
Tours the California Fuel Cell Partnership in West Sacramento, speaks on advanced transportation technology.
Attends a Republican National Committee fundraiser in Palm Springs.
SUNDAY (4/23)
Attends church service and has lunch with troops at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms.
MONDAY (4/24)
More events possible.
You don't have the news if you don't understand what's driving it. If conservatives don't demonstrate, or don't demonstrate when or where they say they will, or have a lousy turnout, or demonstrate ineffectively, you need to understand why.
If 50 people welcome a president while 500 protest him, does that suggest the supporters are ineffective? If their only intent is to show the president their support versus being in the media spotlight, is that foolish in your view?
A crowd of 50 supporting Bush in California isn't bad, but it isn't great. Sure, it's nice for him to see some supporters here. But if they don't get any media coverage, and the Rats (as always) do, Bush supporters are demoralized. Conservatives, even many conservative activists, are always making excuses for not doing enough. I'm not one of them. I don't pretend to be a huge activist, but I do much more than most and I believe in "supersizing it" every time. Not talking to the media is rarely smart in politics.
Thanks. That help me understand your previous message. Still looking.
Looks like the radicals missed their shot at doing what they did in San Jose. Haven't seen the photos yet but they claim to have them. If true, maybe you know how to put this link somewhere on this board that isn't old news? I haven't figured this Free Republic site out yet.
What is a ping?
Sorry, I don't know.
A ping is when one FReeper alerts one or more other FReepers to a thread, or to a specific post on a thread.
You can do this by hitting the blue "Reply" under someone's post, which brings up a reply form. Then you list multiple names in the "To:" box and write "Ping" in the "Your Reply" box. The recipients will receive a link to the thread on their "ping" page.
You can access your ping page by going to the top of the Forum and clicking on the word "Ping". It will bring up a page listing every post you have made and every reply or ping others have sent to you.
