Yeah, but I bet you were dressed. We didn't even have clothes.
if my grandfather were here, he'd probably complain about having had to carve his sign out of rock.

Or Dad's favorite. It's WAY before her time.

"The article (and the sign) say that DAD made the sign!"
Yeah, that confused me - dad made the sign but did he compose it for her? If so, that is just scary.

Maybe he wants her to have a better education than he did. :)

Boy, this is becoming a popular punishment. Remember the woman sitting by her son for hours while he did so, and the girl made to do this by her mother before that?
It's illegal to whoop them when they're little now. Alternative methods that don't get people thrown in prison have to be developed.

wrestle with killer bears just to get out of the house Oy, Steveyp - BerniesFriend had a house - we lived in a shallow spot on the road and had to dodge traffic in our sleep!
Talk about a privileged upbringing!!

Awwww, where's my tiny violin? I was 31, and it was the year I got married, Methuselah.

If it were my kid, I'd probably take him down to the day labor pick up place, where he and I would spend an entire Saturday doing backbreaking labor together for a pittance.... So he understands where his future is headed if he cheats himself out of his education.
To: JamesP81
Oh, but it will be!
I remember the woman with her son and how so many people - REAL as well as FR's - were aghast at the "humilitation" of the poor little boy.
Liberals dumb down people so badly, they don't think you should even LOOK at your child/dog funny. Heavens we might "hurt" them. "Humiliation methods" are next on the list to be "banned".

It's interesting... No one has bothered pointing out the fact that the father is upset because his daughter wasn't attending a government-run indoctrination center.

"Luxury."
"We had to get up in the morning, at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before we went to bed, drink a cup of sulfuric acid, work 29 hours a day down at mill unpaid and having to ask permission to go work, and when we got home our Dad and our Mother would kill us and dance about on our graves singing Hallelujah."

When I got caught shoplifting by my parents as a kid, my mom made me go back to the store, give back the item (a slot car) and apologize to the manager in front of all the customers at the register.
Yes, I was pretty ashamed.

Stop with the "soft and fuzzy feelings" crap.
This kid needed a wake-up call, and this was a good one. She isn't bleeding. She isn't in juvie hall.
I'll bet she has been "disappointing" her father for some time and dprobably has done so with impunity.
This was very appropriate.
