I can't remember where I read it, but apparently because a large percentage of Mexico's working age male population is here in the US, the population growth rate of Mexico is actually lower than replacement level. Since about 25% of Mexico's 110 million are males age 18 to 50 - that is about 27 million people, and 10 million of them are here, that only leaves 17 million there to work, build, reproduce, etc.
I think that Mexico will be like Japan soon - older, non-reproducing, non-productive population. In 100 years Mexico could be a ghost town, except for those "Americanized" Mexicans that go back, or actual US citizens that retire there.

Well folks, I hate to rain on your parade, but a fence in itself is just about worthless to secure a border. Yes, it could probably be built for $150/foot. Within a year it would be nothing more than scrap. Now if you are talking about providing the sensors necessary to monitor this fence you better be ready to donate some big bucks. Optical, electro optic, IR, radar, body capacitance, etc. - they dont come cheap And who supports all this. Operators, maintenance people and of course logistics. Then when you detect a penetration you need some sort of police force, complete with vehicles, choppers, arms and ammo and of course some authority to apprehend.
For 1952 miles of border a quarter million man force is probably not overstating the need. Good luck with your fence.
