I was a member for a year, it wasnt what I cared for, what finally did it for me in terms of leaving them was their magazine heaping big loads of praise on Vatican II. This further confirms my view of the K of C, they may be helpful in many of the areas you mentioned, but their stand on this issue will make sure I not only will not re join the K of C, but they join the list of Catholic Charities to so called charitable oranizations I refuse to give a red cent to.

Service? That can be done as part of a parish function, I do not care for an organization that adovocates such nonsense that will turn the US into a 3rd world Social Democracy. Immigration is an issue that for me, there is NO COMPROMISE.

I just sent this e-mail:

"I am saddened and embarrassed for the Knights of Columbus who have taken a position on the invasion of my Country by illegal aliens that ignores the well being of Citizens of the United States in order to pander to law breakers from a foreign country. I was going to attend a recruitment meeting for the K of C in two weeks (my father was a long time K of C) but after reading your position on the invasion of illegal aliens (not undocumented immigrants) I no longer consider the Knights to be an organization that defends the morality of the rule of law. It is ironic to read that the founders of the Knights of Columbus 'vowed to be defenders of their country'.

Maybe you feel you will pick up enough Spanish speaking Catholics as members for your pandering to illegals to be worthwhile. If so, you should at least drop the "Knights" from your name, you no longer deserve that title."
