First, Tony, you already have a career. This job is simply a stepping-stone to something you already have.

Second, this is almost certainly a significant pay cut. Why?

Third, the working conditions suck.

Fourth, you have to deal with assholes. Every day.

Fifth, go back to "first".

I think Tony would do a great job and the country needs him. Your list, however, is 100% correct. I'd just like to say one thing:

I am SO glad the military does not use your criteria for service. ; ).

Sixth, his country, his president and the world need someone like him in that role because the stakes are that high.

If you had a chance to turn the tide of the current madness on the left (and that includes ALL of the MSM, particularly the White House Press corps) would you say "no, I'm not going to do that?"

There is a thing called duty. Tony knows that.

If there is someone else he thinks can do a better job, or a even good enough job, then he is better off turning this job down for the reasons you list. If he knows, in his heart, that he is the right person to do this, then he should do this. His family (and certainly his fans) will understand. Speaking for one fan, we'll also support him, tooth and nail.

People often think that it is hard to do the right thing. -- It is NOT hard to do the right thing, it is hard to know what the right thing is. Once you know what is right then it is hard to NOT do the right thing.
