Hoover police arrest one of Texas’ 10 most wanted

Hoover police said today a man they arrested Tuesday for drug offenses and an outstanding warrant is one of the 10 most wanted fugitives in Texas.

Police found Pablo Hinojosa Longoria, 32, of Bessemer in a van in the parking lot of the River Oaks Village shopping center in Hoover about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Assistant Police Chief A.C. Roper said.

Police saw open beer bottles and a small amount of marijuana in the van and discovered Longoria had an outstanding felony warrant from Austin, Texas, Roper said.

Further investigation revealed Longoria was on the Texas Ten Most Wanted Violent Offenders list.

He has at least one outstanding murder charge and is a suspect in several other murder cases along the Texas/Mexico border, Roper said.

Longoria was in the Hoover Jail today.

Doesn't look White Male to me!

Texas DMV lists hispanics as white on drivers license and ID cards.

80%hispanic here. All are considered white male for PC reasons. It actually endangers law enforcement when they go looking for a criminal with a wrong description.I have a spanish friend who is a police officer here[West Texas],who randomly pulled over 4 hispanic males in one night, and he was worried he would be written up for profiling. He stopped them at night and at random!

Russell deBusk, one of Birmingham Southern drama students who burned down the rural churches "for fun," is from Hoover. I thought it was more middle-class than what is being decribed on this thread. He lived in Russet Woods--is that near this barrio area?

Longoria is probably his mother's name.

No, but to any cop I'm sure it says, "I've done something bad and need to be interrogated".

I'm not sure where Russet Woods is ... maybe Full Court can help.

Hoover is a fairly high-falutin' place ... upper middle class at least ... though the invasion may have brought it down a notch.

Hoover is a generally upper-middle class suburb, with a population of approximately 70,000. The area described here is definitely the bad part of town, but the rest of it is very nice. I live there and feel quite safe.

Do you suppose he regrets getting that big, blazing tattoo on his neck? You know--the one that screams "Arrest Me!"...?

You know, people that wear tattoos, piercings and weird clothing do us a genuine favor. All that gear is a barometer of their mental instability and gives us adequate warning how to regard and deal with them. Kind of like rattles on a snake or bright colors on a poison-arrow frog.

So you don't think it's one of those rub-on tats they sell at the weekend mercados? Looks to me like the same ones he would have on the back window of his ride, ya know? LOL - that sucker is huge!

Thanks. Not having been there, that I know of, I was equating it with Mountain Brook, Natalee's hometown.

It's not very far from Mountain Brook, but it's much larger, and more diverse.

Hispanics are considered white in the matters of crimes they commit.

That way the white race gets pulled down some in the crime statistics and the other races look somewhat better.

Its the truth.

Its a fraud upon us all.

Count the Hispanics as white on job applications and for any benefits given to minorities too.

Lets make the playing field level.

It is a very interesting situation. The barrio area is mostly confined to the Lorna Road area, and some area apartment complexes that line that road.

Just a few miles away you will find the community of Riverchase, in Hoover, with million dollar homes. A million buys a lot of house in Hoover. Bart Starr lives in Riverchase.

The Russet Woods community is a few mile further down the road, still in Hoover, but economically between the Lorna Road Barrios and the millionaires of Riverchase.

Most homes in Russet Woods would be described as "upper-middle" class. And all this is in Hoover, which is next to Vestavia Hills, which is next to Mountain Brook, which is next to Birmingham as the crow flies.

OK, thanks. I see the picture a little better now. It just seemed like an awfully odd place for a "Most Wanted" from Texas to be found (as in "not Mexico"). I wouldn't expect there to be a nest of them there, then.
