Protesters are gathering to rally against a new round of raids on undocumented immigrants.
Numerous raids have left Chicago families without their loved ones, and this morning the government is talking about its new policy.
[snip]
But illegal immigrant advocates are calling this action and crackdown immoral and they are outraged. They are planning a protest outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) headquarters and another protest is planned this afternoon.
They are asking immigration officials to halt action until Congress comes up with its new laws because it might allow some immigrants to remain in the U.S.

Uh, hello, Whitehouse? Anybody there?
When Customs and Immigration merged into ICE, the legacy Customs investigators were GS-13's (pay level) while the INS Investigators were GS-11's.
Since the the Feds could not demote the GS-13's, the GS-11's got promoted to GS-13's.
The INS Supervisors the were GS-12, GS-13 and GS-14 got promoted to GS-14, and GS-15 to match the Customs Supervisors.
This cost billions which ICE had to borrow against it's future budgets to get.
It will be a few years before ICE has any real money for investigation other they terrorist stuff.
You inside insight is quite valuable to keep these discussions at the factual level.
Look lady, if they're here illegally, they ARE criminals.
Newt was on the tube a few days back and said his main suggestion to deal with illegals is to go after the Companies hard and the problem will take care of itself.
There has to be a smarter way than the brute force method of dealing with illegals one by one. On ants I find that if you use the bait traps they take it back to the queen and everyone dies. Seems there may be something to learn from this.
Glad to be of assistance.
Thanks for your support.
He's 100% correct.
Take away the jobs and take away the welfare and the vast majority of illegals will leave on their own accord.
The rest can be dealt with the hard way.
"Many of those same immigrants were released just hours later "....
What??? They are still releasing them? This is no crackdown on illegals. This is a ruse to fool the public into thinking ICE is really doing something.
WIth ICE's lack of cash, I doubt we will see more then 1 or 2 of these a year.
The Criminal Inmates are running the Criminal Assylum.
"Man, how naive are you?
Do you work for CBP or ICE?
I do. Have you spoken with any agents involved in the investigation and raids?
I have.
Thanks for playing.
Next!"
Now I'm really worried if someone as naive as you are work for CBP or ICE. You still have no response to why they chose this particular week to do the raid, the exact week in which Congress will be reconvening and taking up once again an immigration bill. I don't give a darn on how long it takes to plan a raid. That is not the question. The question is why was this particular week chosen to initiate the raid, and that's where your being naive comes in, if you think this wasn't an intentional choice. Geez, wake up and smell the coffee!
Now they have the audacity to demand we not arrest any of the illegals?
They need to be shown how to respect our laws and our country!
They are not the boss of us!
Does HR4437 - or any of the proposed Senate bills - address that ICE needs funding?
The raid was planned for this month due to the completion of the investigation and the acquiring of the proper warrants by the Justice Department.
This was all in the works long before Congress decided to introduce and work on any immigration bill. The two just happen to coincide, just like the illegals rising up and holding rallies.
Some times shit happens. Wake up and smell reality.
I've not looked at the bill yet, so I can't say.
