Yes, but the Berlin Wall worked...no one ran to West Berlin through the Wall. So would a border wall work. It would mean people who wanted to come to America would have to come legally.

About three times that number were killed attempting to flee westward from elsewhere in East Germany Actually 260 people died trying to cross the Berlin wall and that is the Official estimate, the number was probably higher.
BTW, do have a picture of communist leader Erich Honneker haning in your home or office? Since you seem to admire so much the communist building of the wall.

Not true - lots of people made it across. Of course, there were also hundreds who died in the attempt, but there were thousands of successful escapes out of East Germany.
