Somehow this does not make me feel any better about the Republican party.
Maybe Rudy will tell all the "snugglers" about his immigration policies while he was Mayor.
Mayor Giuliani sued all the way up to the Supreme Court to defend the citys pre-911 sanctuary policy to thwart a 1996 federal law decreeing that cities could not prohibit their employees from cooperating with the INS.
"Oh yeah?," said Giuliani, "Just watch me." The INS, Rudy claimed, with what turned out to be grotesque irony, only aims to "terrorize people."
Very poor choice of words, Rudy.
Though he lost in court, Rudy remained defiant to the end.
On September 5, 2001, Rudy's own boys---his handpicked charter-revision committee---ruled that New York City could still require that its employees keep immigration information confidential "to preserve trust between immigrants and government."
Six days later, on Sept 11, 2001, several foreigners who had overstayed their visas participated in the most devastating attack on New York City that our country had ever seen.
McInsane will be stopped by conservatives. I think he knows this and has tried to appeal to the right. Rudy is NYC and that alone will turn off a lot of voters. If Republicans get back to basics we win...if not conservatives will stay home.
As to the illegal situation, I have personally given up Mex. Restuarants because I know of too many involved in "rotating" illegals thru the system. A haven for coyotes.
Plus the fact I don't trust what they may do to my food since all these protest have started!
