I didn't say the Bill of Rights prohibits it. However, if Saudi Arabia can determine which rights in the Bill of Rights we'll be permitted to enjoy, I'd have to say the Constitution is a pretty worthless piece of fishwrap.

IIRC, the Constitution does in fact speak to the defense of the country (and if that doesn't include the people and their rights, I don't know what 'country' means), and so in that sense it is indeed a Constitutional issue. It involves our Constitutional rights, and our being denied those rights by a foreign power. And it involves the Constitutional responsibility of the CIC and the Army to defend the country.

Are you a lawyer, Lab?

Yes, a lawyer, and I also taught constitutional law for several years.
