As with so many instances of failed policies on immmigration, it appears some Senators are not giving first consideration to the security risks to our nation but will haggle a while and then drop the subject by default.By not controlling the border with Mexico politicians have provided incentives for illegals to break our laws and 'live off the land' with impunity. Border security is addressed as a political issue rather than a matter of national defense. Giving 3 million illegals amnesty in 1986 resulted in an invasion of over 12 million who now "can't be deported" and even demand entitlement to citizenship.. By changing their status from illegal aliens to "undocumented workers" they are encouraged to cross over and test what even they recognize as a broken system. If we handled any other law enforcement in the same way our "nation of laws" would be looking like old Europe now. And now we learn of fraud rampant within Homeland Insecurity. In testimony before the House Subcommittee on Immigration,Border Security and Claims, admission of lack of funds prevented apprehending or incarcerating many criminal elements; and the number of individuals smuggled into the United States has increased dramatically as alien smuggling has become more sophisticated, complex, organized, and flexible. Thousands of aliens annually illegally seek immigration benefits, such as work authorization and change of status. But DHS claims they don't have the resources to have prevented the disaster in immigration violations.

The report says that fraud in some categories of visas is as high as 30 percent. And in an average year, a grand total of about 400 employees are fired for cause in the entire Federal government.
Only the best must work for the feds...NOT.

Tiresome but sadly true. Some huge proportion of the clots allegedly ''working'' (can I get odds, PLEASE!) for us chump taxpayers haven't the first clue of, or any respect for, the Constitution.
These folks are the modern-day equivalent of 'good Nazis' (any FReeper must, unfortunately, be of a certain age to recognise that term; even Patton got himself into hot water with the limpdick 'press' because he didn't mind his words carefully);

Sorry, that link takes you to a registration page. Here's the headline, lead and a quote from the story about the raid on the pallet making company in Houston:
----
Dozens of illegal immigrants arrested, released in hours
10:13 PM CDT on Wednesday, April 19, 2006, By Vicente Arenas / 11 News
There was a crackdown Wednesday and dozens of illegal immigrants were arrested.
Many of those same immigrants were released just hours later. It is not clear why these immigrants were released so quickly but workers say it may be because the 950-bed facility was severely overcrowded. The workers say they were told the facilities were full. Sources inside the facility say the same thing and that agents have been ordered to release immigrants as soon as possible.
Some of the workers say there were other problems Wednesday. They said computers went down and agents had to scribble information, in one case, failing to write in a court date altogether.

An investigation by the (GAO) has found that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS), the agency within the Department of Homeland Security in charge of adjudicating immigration benefits such as citizenship and permanent residency, is rife with fraud. The report has not been released, but a draft of the report obtained by the Washington Times says, "Adjudicators we spoke with said that management's focused attention on reducing the backlog placed additional pressure on them to process applications faster, thereby increasing the risk of making incorrect decisions, including approval of potentially fraudulent applications." The report says that fraud in some categories of visas is as high as 30 percent. Senator Grassley commented on this report a couple of weeks ago.

I have came to the conclusion the entire damned government, from top to bottom, is broken in this country. I no longer have any faith in it, period, time to throw the baby out with the dirty water, rinse well, and start over again.

WTF, I have seen where workers have an average time frame of from 3-5 minutes per individual case, to review, approve, or disapprove

I'm getting that way myself.

Cost us 40 bucks to send our three GOP congress/senate critters in DC a brick each today. That $40.00 will be $40.00 more than the GOP ever gets out of us again.
Maybe with a few million brick thrown at them, they might get the message to build a wall.

These folks are the modern-day equivalent of 'good Nazis' Color me sceptical but young...Are the busses running on time? IMO any amnesty w/ enforcement will be AMNESTY PERIOD...same non-enforcement. Real enforcement would mean riots. No good comes without pain.

"(they released many of the illegals"
........and are we releasing other criminals when we can't get around to the paperwork??? or do we let people not pay their property and income tax if they can't get around to the paperwork. Seems when money is coming in from US citizens they don't have a problem. Maybe these employers need to be replaced by US persons who don't want to do the work that illegals do.

How about each US citizen that visits the border, place one brick with mortar on the borderline. The fence will be built in no time. Then deduct expense from Income tax as cost of doing business. How many visitors do we have going to Mexico annually? Remember the "Tower of Babyl?"

I have came to the conclusion the entire damned government, from top to bottom, is broken in this country. This government sold their souls to the globalist agenda long ago. I think there's still a few good guys in Washington who don't belong to the "boy's club", but they're rare.

Good idea, even a few piles of stacked bricks will send a message.

Did you see that fed workers earn ave $60,000/yr ($80,000 in DC). That is 25% more than private sector. And, as noted above, they can't get anything right.
To: Ursus arctos horribilis
So, how long does it take to say either ''Disapproved'' or ''Wait over there'' or ''Security! ''.

One way or another, sooner rather than later I think, there will in fact be rioting. It only remains to be seen who will be doing the rioting.
As to busses, on-time or not, take that up with Willie Green.

I sent two bricks one to Frist and one to Hastert and the cost was $9.10. Did you send cement blocks? I even got a signed confirmation and the ability to track my bricks. It took three days to get to Washington.
I too hope others do the same. It could have a big impact. Maybe they will be forwarded to the Minutemen for building the wall.
