The information she posted was contact information already published on the Web by UC Santa Cruz people themselves. She did NOT publish anything that wasn't already available to anyone with a computer.

Wrong. She posted a press release that the "students" had sent out, on which the "students" had provided their own phone numbers as contacts for the fawning media's benefit.

Ms. Malkin re-published a press release which included contact information for some UCSC students. I hardly think that's the equivilent of posting someone's home number, address and pictures of his or her family.
