SCHWARZENEGGER SEEKS FUNDS FOR LEVEE FIXES, IMMIGRATION

President Bush and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger will meet briefly Friday in Silicon Valley, where the governor hopes to press for more federal funding to shore up California's aging levees and win reimbursement for incarceration of illegal immigrants.

Schwarzenegger is expected to meet the president when he touches down in the Bay Area. The governor will ride with Bush in the presidential motorcade to Cisco Systems in San Jose, where they will appear together.

There, Bush plans to discuss his American Competitiveness Initiative with a handful of Silicon Valley executives, including host Cisco CEO John Chambers. The governor, in turn, will lobby Bush for more federal funding.

``The governor is very enthusiastic about having a serious policy discussion with the president about issues that are critical to California, such as our levees,'' said Schwarzenegger press secretary Margita Thompson.

The governor is more moderate than Bush on many issues, and the men don't always see eye-to-eye. They disagree on abortion rights, funding for stem-cell research and how to deal with global warming. But they share a staunch opposition to new taxes and hold similar views on immigration reform.

I doubt if the POTUS has anything left over for CA levee repairs after the Katrina fixes.

"WHY?"

because Fox can! LOL

two points, Bush needs to tell Fox to start cleaning up his house instead of sweeping his mess on our back yard.

The Mexicans come here because of the economic failure of their country while expecting us to ignore them while they break our laws...I don't think soooooooo

Bush visiting his most cherished constituency? He can lead the next march.

As for Ahnold, clean up your own backyard, I know it's tough with the Rats controlling Sacremento.

That especially goes for Fox, clean up that ____hole you call a country.
