You (and everyone here) are entitled to your own opinion. Obviously we differ quite a bit.
OTOH, that doesn't give you (or anyone else for that matter) any right or license whatsoever to come and post garbage on these threads.
Reasoned, polite, and civil dissent on these threads is allowed (in fact, rather strongly encouraged), but ripping on other posters' personal lives or showing up just to post absolutely worthless junk is not. That's my point.
There's plenty from others and you know it, Gerstner at IBM was the biggest sellout to the Reds of all shapes and sizes ever. Palmisano and Otellini are constantly poor mouthing the US while they offshore more and more.
Now we see Gates joining the party, despite his previous comments referring to those who don't respect copyright as "communists". That's all changed, since he's now getting paid, and Jobs will be following along soon I'm sure.
The "freetraders" of course think this is all wonderful, and perhaps now this is the only way our businessmen can rank in the wealthiest in the world from here on.
But their arrogance is what puts us in danger, and in my opinion and profession security always comes first. And when it comes to China, there is little for the average American to trust. In many respects, their current way of life is completely contrarian to ours.
Who's more liberal between Jobs and Gates? I don't know, but at least neither give much free IP to the Chicoms.
None of those guys you mentioned are in the same league as Bill Gates for over-the-top praise of the ChiComs.
Read the quotes. Bill Gates says Communist China is the ideal model for the United States, and the Commie dictators are the best and smartest leaders in the world.
While I find those comments (provided by the french press who I find questionable) terribly repulsive, they're not quite as bad as you make out. And actions speak louder than words, and in that light there is no greater business ally with China than IBM. Lou Gerstner was President of the Council for US-China relations and IBM is listed by Fortune as the most popular US business in China. Yes Gates is now wooing them too, and it's disgusting, but IBM has long led the charge in selling out to foreign dangers.
Already posted to you at #120.
Nice try. WTF does Gates say "...Communist China is the ideal model for the United States"? You pulled that out of your ass.
Bill Gates calls China's leaders "the best in the world". And he says China's people are smarter and better educated than Americans (perhaps he was referring to you, given your difficulties with reading comprehension.)
Nice backtrack, Hal. But we both know that you can't back up any of your claims. That should be painfully obvious to anybody reading this thread now.
"They're smart. They have this mericratic way of picking people for these government posts where you rotate into the university and really think about state allocation of resources and the welfare of the country and then you rotate back into some bureaucratic position.""This generation of leaders is so smart, so capable, from the top down, particularly from the top down."
"It is a brand-new form of capitalism, and as a consumer its the best thing that ever happened."
"Scale economies that are just phenomenal."
"Well I could say that every time I go to China I am amazed by the level of energy and activity there. And you know its like super charged capitalism where they're creating new jobs and they are being very efficient. And you know that's daunting. It's a challenge to the rest of the world that we got this great opportunity that they're going to build good products, but we all have to become more efficient to work at that level as well."
"As their people are more college educated and creating inexpensive products. That's just a great thing for our consumers. It does mean that the companies here need to think about selling to China. About how they work with partners there. And measuring their efficiency against the best in the world which in my business will be the leaders in China."
Quotes from China's Communist dictator Hu Jintao to Bill Gates -
"I certainly look forward to the extension of your cooperation with China."
