"Border Patrol to Americans: YOU HAVE BEEN INVADED"
April 29, 2006
Jim Kouri

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "On May 1, the US Border Patrol Agents Local 2544 will be doing their part to offset any adverse impact on the American economy as a result of the upcoming illegal aliens’ boycott. Local 2544, which represents Border Patrol agents in Arizona, vows to make big-ticket item purchases of computers and other expensive items on May 1.

“We wish all the illegal aliens would take their May 1 ‘protest’ a step further, and completely remove themselves from the country,” say Local officials.

“You have been invaded, America. There are reportedly 20 million illegal aliens in this country now, and the number could be much higher.”

Border patrol agents state plainly that these people are not supposed to be here and nobody knows who they are."

"Counterfeiting illegal aliens hit bank"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a massive counterfeit check ring that two weeks ago hit a local bank for what is estimated to be more than $100,000.

Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills said that on the afternoon of Thursday, April 13, numerous Hispanics cashed Horton Homes payroll checks at The Peoples Bank. Authorities don’t know exactly how many people cashed checks, some went to more than one teller, but Sills said more than 100 checks counterfeited from a Horton Homes payroll check were cashed. Sills said those cashing the counterfeit checks produced fake immigration cards – commonly known as “green cards.”"

ARTICLE SNIPPET#2: "So far, one arrest has been made in relation to the case, but Sills said no one has been charged with counterfeiting the checks. Last week, authorities arrested an illegal immigrant who was working at Horton Homes.

“We have arrested one Guatemalan national whose name came up during the course of this investigation,” Sills said. “Initially he claimed to be a Mexican national and produced a counterfeit Mexican drivers license and counterfeit ‘green card.’ We charged him with false statements and writings and with second-degree forgery for the green card. He entered the country with a visa, but it of course had expired two years ago. In addition to that, he somehow obtained a legitimate social security card in his name, making him eligible for benefits.”"

U.S., Iraqi Forces Kill, Capture Insurgents in Raids

American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON, April 30, 2006 – Iraqi and coalition forces conducted a series of coordinated raids near Taji and Yusifiyah, Iraq, yesterday, killing two and capturing seven wanted terrorists and detaining more than 50 other suspects.
At approximately 6 p.m. local time yesterday, coalition forces killed two al Qaeda terrorists involved in foreign fighter facilitation. The troops tracked the two to a location near Taji, and killed the terrorists before they could react, U.S. officials said.

Abu Usamah, one of the two killed and the troops' primary target, was allegedly involved in suicide and car-bomb attacks, as well as foreign fighter facilitation.

No civilians were injured during the operation.

In a separate operation, combined forces raided multiple locations near Yusifiyah based on information and intelligence regarding the whereabouts of foreign terrorists, foreign terrorist facilitators, operatives and leaders affiliated with the al Qaeda network, U.S. officials said.

The comprehensive operation was conducted to deny safe haven and to kill or capture foreign and Iraqi terrorists who have been operating in the region, officials said. Over the past several weeks, terrorists, most of them foreign, have used the hostile region as a staging area to launch suicide operations into Baghdad, they said.

Iraqi and Coalition forces have conducted several previous raids in the area in the past few weeks, resulting in the death of more than 20 foreign terrorists. Several of the terrorists were wearing suicide vests when the assault forces killed them.

In a related issue, officials provided updated information that of 12 terrorists killed in an April 25 raid in Yusifiyah, at least five and as many as 10 of the terrorists were confirmed to be foreigners.

In other news from Iraq, a car bomb detonated near Qaim April 28, killing three Iraqi civilians.

"Our thoughts are with the families of the innocent civilians who lost their lives," Marine Lt. Col. Bryan F. Salas, a Multinational Force West spokesman, said.

Loyalty Day, 2006
A Proclamation by the President of the United States of America

Our Nation is blessed and bound together by a creed of freedom and equality that is entrusted to all Americans. Preserving the ideals of our founding requires the service and sacrifice of every generation, and on Loyalty Day, we celebrate the gift of liberty and remember our own obligation to this great Nation.

The dedication and selflessness of America's soldiers and their families inspire us all. Some of our Nation's finest men and women have given their lives in freedom's cause. By their sacrifices they have given us a legacy of liberty and brought honor to the uniform, our flag, and our country. The American people are grateful to the brave men and women of our military for their service and we will always stand behind them. I encourage all Americans to learn more about opportunities to thank and support our troops, from sending a care package to writing a message, by visiting www.americasupportsyou.mil.

Loyalty Day is also a time for us to reflect on our responsibilities to our country as we work to show the world the meaning and promise of liberty. The right to vote is one of our most cherished rights and voting is one of our most fundamental duties. By making a commitment to be good citizens, flying the American flag, or taking the time to learn about our Nation's history, we show our gratitude for the blessings of freedom.

The greatest strength of America is in the heart and soul of its people, and every time a volunteer reaches out to a neighbor in need, our Nation grows stronger and more hopeful. Thousands of Americans are serving a higher calling by mentoring, coaching, serving in Senior Corps, and by participating in many other programs that enrich lives and help build a better tomorrow. The light of freedom shines brightly because of compassionate people who care about others. Their dedication to a cause greater than self gives all Americans confidence in the future of our Nation.

The Congress, by Public Law 85-529, as amended, has designated May 1 of each year as "Loyalty Day." I ask all Americans to join me in this day of celebration and in reaffirming our allegiance to our Nation.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 1, 2006, as Loyalty Day. I call upon all the people of the United States to join in support of this national observance, and to display the flag of the United States on Loyalty Day.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-eighth day of April, in the year of our Lord two thousand six, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirtieth.

GEORGE W. BUSH

"Eyptian Parliament Extends Emergency Law"
Apr 30, 8:37 PM (ET)
By SALAH NASRAWI

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - Egypt's parliament agreed Sunday to extend an emergency law President Hosni Mubarak imposed on the country after he took power in 1981, ignoring a growing chorus of opposition both inside and outside the country.

The emergency law, put in place after Islamic extremists killed Mubarak's predecessor Anwar Sadat during a Cairo military parade, gives security forces broad powers to arrest and detain suspects. The United States last year called on Mubarak to lift the law, which human rights organizations and Egypt's opposition say is subject to abuse.

Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif told legislators the two-year extension was important to the government's effort to combat terrorism, the official Middle East News Agency reported."

"Rebels 'gun down 22' in Kashmir"
From Mukhtar Ahmad
For CNN

Monday, May 1, 2006; Posted: 4:30 a.m. EDT (08:30 GMT)

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir (CNN) -- Suspected Islamic militants gunned down Hindu villagers in southern Kashmir, killing at least 22 and critically wounding eight others, a police official said.

The villagers were herded out of their homes early Sunday morning, where the gunmen started firing indiscriminately at them, S.P. Vaid, inspector-general of police in Jammu, said.

Among those gunned down was a nine-year-old girl, according to the Press Trust of India.

The massacre took place in the remote village of Kulhand, about 15 miles (25 kilometers) from Doda in southern Jammu and Kashmir.

Nearly 12 insurgent groups have been fighting for Kashmir's independence, according to The Associated Press.

An anti-insurgency army unit has been deployed and is combing the area for the attackers, Vaid said.

It was the second attack targeting Hindus in the predominantly Muslim region over a matter of days."

PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE
Office of the Spokesman
This information is current as of today, Mon May 01 2006 02:43:21 GMT-0700.

Worldwide Caution

December 12, 2005

This Public Announcement updates information on the continuing threat of terrorist actions and violence against Americans and interests overseas. This supersedes the Worldwide Caution dated August 2, 2005 and expires on June 12, 2006.

The Department of State remains concerned about the continued threat of terrorist attacks, demonstrations and other violent actions against U.S. citizens and interests overseas. Ongoing events in Iraq have resulted in demonstrations and associated violence in several countries. Americans are reminded that demonstrations and rioting can occur with little or no warning.

Current information suggests that al-Qa’ida and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks against U.S. interests in multiple regions, including Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. These attacks may employ a wide variety of tactics to include assassinations, kidnappings, hijackings and bombings.

Extremists may elect to use conventional or non-conventional weapons, and target both official and private interests. The hotel bombings in Jordan in early November illustrate how terrorists exploit vulnerabilities associated with soft targets. Additional examples of such targets include residential areas, business offices, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, schools, public areas and locales where Americans gather in large numbers, including during holidays.

In the wake of the July 2005 London bombings and the March 2004 train attacks in Madrid, Americans are reminded of the potential for terrorists to attack public transportation systems. In addition, extremists may also select aviation and maritime services as possible targets.

U.S. citizens are strongly encouraged to maintain a high level of vigilance, be aware of local events, and take the appropriate steps to bolster their personal security. For additional information, please refer to “A Safe Trip Abroad” found at http://travel.state.gov.

U.S. Government facilities worldwide remain at a heightened state of alert. These facilities may temporarily close or periodically suspend public services to assess their security posture. In those instances, U.S. embassies and consulates will make every effort to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens. Americans abroad are urged to monitor the local news and maintain contact with the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate.

As the Department continues to develop information on any potential security threats to U.S. citizens overseas, it shares credible threat information through its Consular Information Program documents, available on the Internet at http://travel.state.gov. In addition to information on the Internet, travelers may obtain up-to-date information on security conditions by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll-free in the U.S. or outside the U.S. and Canada on a regular toll line at 1-202-501-4444.
