(PS. My husband is a naturalized citizen. He came in legally and waited the proper amount of time to apply for citizenship.)So's my wife.
BTW having a spouse that speaks a foreign language is pretty enlightening at times - according her, her foreign language media here is flat LYING about what congress is doing in order to get that particular segment of the population fired up about immigration reform, ie they are saying congress is going to cut off all benefits to non-citizens by this July (don't I wish).
Balkanization at its worst. Its no wonder there were half a million latinos in the streets in LA a few weeks back.

I read just in the past day or so, here on FR, that such a law does take effect in July. It limits Medicaid and welfare benefits to those who cannot prove citizenship. School is still available, K-12, by SCOTUS ruling and the availability of the ER is not affected, as all ERs are mandated by law to accord treatment to anyone.
IIRC, this was an amendment inserted into a large bill, most likely the Budget.
Given the outcry so far from the left and the Catholic Church, it will be interesting to see this enforced. Even if it is, I would look for charity groups to open more free food pantries and to find MDs and Advanced Practice RNs to provide care in free clinics.
For some reason, the English language MSM is not commenting on this law or its effective date.
