that's the beauty of the FairTax - it IS revenue neutral yet the resulting operation gives us as taxpayers the ability to reduces taxes paid thereby "starving the government" - and your idea has no possible hope of doing that.

No, it's revenue positive. The government stands to experience a real windfall if they get the extra 4% they are trying for with the 23% rate.
Yes, you are right that the FairTax has a better chance of passage - now.
But if the sheeple would wake up and realize they are being sheared the revolt would make passage of a 15% or even 10% "FairTax" a simple matter.
