The interesting thing about this revelation is that Joe Wilson's op-ed in the San Jose Mercury-News contended:
a, Saddam had WMD.
b. And he would use them.
That was Ol' Joe's argument against Gulf War II before it began. But, by April, he had changed his tune -- and his facts.
Good point!! I was thinking that reference was to some later piece by Wilson, but BEFORE the war his argument was emphatically that Saddam would use WMDs on our troops and so if we didn't absolutely have to depose Saddam then we should just continue to 'contain' him......... of course, no mention of Saddams fervent support of terrorism, which as we have been learning extended to training thousands of jihadist in camps in Iraq and an ongoing relationship with Al Qaeda that is NOT insignificant (even if Saddam had not actually sponsored or ordered any attacks through them, he could do so at any time).
Lots of eyebrow raising names on those lists!
Thanks. I'm somewhat familiar with them. Scowcroft hangs around a bunch of "mini-CFR's" like that. I'm not sure which of them he's actually active with vs. which are ones he just sticks his name on to boost his and the group's image on paper--I don't think it's humanly possible for him to actually participate in the number of such groups he joins. Likewise some of the other folks on that list--some of these liberal elitists seem to join as many of these clubs as they can, kind of like it's a habit they picked up in their Ivy League prep schools when they joined as many extracurricular clubs as they good to bolster their resume. So I'm not sure if Aspen figures in a direct way into Plamegate or if the overlap in players is just a byproduct of that phenomenon; but I do think their membership is an indicator of who's who in the upper echeclons of power and who's worth keeping an eye on when trying to piece together the big picture.
I recently had a conversation in which it was claimed that proof of Plame's covert status was the front/cover company, Brewster Jennings, provided by and acknowledged by the CIA. It was further pressed that Plame's 'outing' did irreparable damage, causing the closing of said 'front company', loss of cover for 'associates', and untold damage to national security.
Has anyone ever found any evidence/proof that the CIA provided, and acknowledged having provided, 'Brewster Jennings' as a front company / cover for 'covert' agent Plame? I've searched everywhere and can find no evidence of a connection and no acknowledgement of a connection by the CIA.

I've noticed that this seems to be a telltale sign of disinformation agents and useful idiots under the influence of such agents. In contrast, a responsible intelligence agent doing their job knows how and when to keep their mouth shut. Compare this observation with Joseph Wilson and it's easy to see into which category he falls.
INHO: Kristoff knew about Plame and the CIA before anyone because he was told by Wilson/Plame. Kristoff even used her as an unnamed source in his article about the Wilson trip.
