The Senate immigration compromise wont do.
When the U.S. Senate returns later this month from spring recess, it will get a second chance to pass meaningful immigration reform. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter (R., Pa.) has promised to hold new hearings and report out a revised bill by May 4. The committee's starting point will be the so-called Hagel-Martinez "compromise" bill that failed to pass the Senate earlier this month. That bill, however, is fatally flawed, and I would like to point out several reasons why the committee should either rewrite it substantially or start from a clean slate. Among the problems with the compromise proposal:

What's wrong with ending these endless committes and simply enforce the laws already on the books?
I hope he enters the GOP presidential primaries.

We don't need more laws. We already have enough *on the books*, to get the darned job done. What's the matter with those morons?
If Spector is going to start with that piece of crap, which was simply the McCain Kennedy bill with some add ons that muddied the bill even more, then they can just stay ay home, because a whole hell of a lot of GOP voters will.
Look at the FR poll on the subject. It surprised even me.
Like they illegals would abide by NEW laws. Unreal.
Too much logic?
we need to DDT their vote farming
To be honest, I do not think that they really know what is going on well enough to take effective action. I support state laws that are now being passed, because I think the situations are different across the country, and Congress doesn't have a clue.
Kris Kobach, former head of immigration in the Justice Department, spoke at our No Amnesty Rally in Kansas City yesterday. He stated illegals are already committing 6 or 7 felonies, and so it really didn't matter if the Senate bill listed them as felons or not.
Jeff Sessions got it right!
I have a hugh problem about the way ammendments are added to bills trying to be passed.
Can someone clarify what I think is going on and tell me what we can do about it?
Here is my take on it. The ability to attach "crap" to bills being looked at and voted on was developed to save time and pass a large number of things quicker than having to vote on each one.
Well, imho, if you take all the time that these clowns we have in congress spend debating these ass-o-nine ammendments and applied it to passing everything one at a time with a real vote on each item it may not look too different in regards to time.
My last point is, even if it took them 80 hours a week to sit their fat asses down and do the voting and procedures for each proposal they put into play I think it would work out better.
For example, put something like the defence budget first. Then have the party in power put one(1) again I say one, of their proposed items up for a vote with debate. When they senators all raised their little fat hands(that they scratch their fat asses with) and voted yea or nea, they could proceed to work on the other parties first proposed bill. This would rotate until all, I say again ALL proposals have been voted on and then the "finally doing their job congress" could go on a vacation until the next session.
This would immediately have an effect on how many stupid ass bills were proposed and also it would leave it up to each party's leadership to decide what is the most important thing to bring up.
This is but one of many of my problems with the LAZY SLACKERS we have elected.
Any Ideas?
Up here in MA... they just let'm go.
No... It's too hugh for me.
Too series also.

Oh yea plenty of them. This is one of my biggest peeves with congress also. The only solution I see is to prohibit unrelated riders or amendments to bills. Also I think too many lawyers are writing such bills. Any business before the United States Congress should be written in laymans terms and to the point.
There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for any bill except perhaps the federal budget to be larger Than 3 pages long or 5 at the most. If a senator or congressman is handed several bills per day as thick as a 500 page notebook can they possibly read it and understand everything they vote on in that bill? No indeed and that's how much of the stuff gets through. You better believe the person who wrote those riders or amendments to bills knows that they are in there.
All bills should be written to where reading the context so your 8th grader child can understand it and form an opinion. If congress can't get it all done that way in their alloted time that's fine by me too. That way the peoples business needed addressed would take priority and they would not have as much time to waste creating more waste and signing away ours and our children's futures.
