Good post. As always Dr. Sowell can take a complex subject and boil it down to a few words and most importantly be correct in his analysis. He is one of the brilliant minds in our country today.

Until our elected officials can come up with an immigration policy that only allows people to come to our country who genuinely want to be Americans, the problem will not be solved.

Dr. Sowell's writing style is excellent. He understands that the purpose of writing argumentatively is to convince people of something. And in order to convince people of something, they have to understand what's being said. Hence, parsimony. It's impossible to actually read Sowell and not understand what he's getting at. Unlike some people, who seem to deliberately complicate what they say, making it impossible to understand and therefore argue with them, whereupon they claim victory because there has been no rebuttal.
