Being paid to leave a job is what I'm complaining about. He will not be working for the company anymore. Are you aware of any retirement packages like this? $400 million? Shouldn't it be part of a job description? A pay scale? Voted on by the shareholders? Some accountability?
The shareholders determine the pay of the CEO. No surprise, there. Haven't heard them complaining either. The only complaints I have heard are from those "everyman" types, who feel that the "little guy" is getting shafted.
