Why?

Cavuto is right.
Unless you're a stockholder, your opinion (or mine) on how much a CEO makes is less than worthless. My salary is an agreement between what my company is willing to pay and what I'm willing to work for. What anybody else things is irrelevant.

I'm sure that you wouldn't want some outsider second-guessing your salary.

an "outsider" already does. the US government, by passing H1B visa programs - affects my salary.

Some years ago, when Mr. Raymond reached mandatory retirement age, the board and shareholders begged him to stay on ... and he did for several more years. No one is glad to see him go.
