OK, so Ukraine is not a Republic, and neither is Russia. Thanks.

Maybe the Russian and the Arab just can't understand the underlining concepts, of pluralism, free markets, one man one vote, and country of laws not of men.==

As for Russians they understand. But Russia has her own traditions which influences her. Russia is in between Europe and Asia. SO she has been partly asian country.

Look on Britain for once. They has queen there. Why so advanced country has so archaic law of rule? The Kingdom.
Why you don't do the "orange revolution" in UK for first?

Because britons has thier own histry of tradition there. I respect that. SO you should understand that Russia to is not America. She more like Britain in this. She is more traditional country.

Do you think it (Freedom and Democracy) has been explained to them in a geniune, sincere, way and further nurtured by their leaders?

If you can't answer that question yes...then that is why they've been unable to transition to Free markets, pluralism, etc....

Freedom can take root with all intelligent, honest, people but only if it is allowed too...the petty Tyrants of the world only understand the submission of others at the point of a gun because they (Chavez, Mullahs in Iran) desire power for themselves, which is all they understand.

Sadly, diplomacy alone...rarely frees people. We in the US know this...we've fought several wars externally and one internally for Freedom.

So where do you stand? Which side of Freedom are you on?

Because, UK doesn't invite HAMAS in for a chat, and doesn't give them millions of $$$ to top it off.

HAMAS was elected DEMOCRATICALLY. Isn't it true?

It seems to me that your acception of democracy is very very selective:). Double standards?

You so outdated:). It is 12 national TV channels now. Here is the list: ORT, RTR, TVC, NTV, Culture-channel, TNT, Home channel, RenTV, STS-entertainment channel, TV3, DTV, Zvezda(Star). All of this is air broadcating channels. Everyone may see then for free.

You of cause may subcribe on sattelite TV or internet TV. They have plans with 500-1000 channels around the globe.

Wow, someone in the media finally figured this out. The truth is the Cold War never ended. It was a ploy by the communists to get badly needed western capital to rebuild their infrastructure and military and if you've been paying attention you know they have a new stealth diesel-electric submarine, a new mobile ballistic missile, a super cavitating torpedo, and a new fighter coming in 2007. All of these since the Cold War supposedly ended. Plus, every time they have an opportunity to take a pound of flesh from the US or the west, they do.

White U.S.-Russia relations may got through some bumpy moments, particularly vis-a-vis the War on Terror, it can't return to the Cold War for two reasons. 1) The Russians would have to voluntarily return to communism and too many Russians don't want to live under that sort of control again. 2) Russians have transfered (poorly but definitely) into a capitalist society.

I just don't see them going back to their old ways now that they have so many new freedoms. Surely they understand that a return to communism (as much as the libs would celebrate it) is a death sentence on their country.

Didn't United States get her new toys too? Like B-2 bomber, Seawulf submarine, Raptor fighter and even new ABM and new aircarrier Ronald Reagan?! Not mention the smaller toys like new tank, new artillary, manless airplanes and so on.
Notice all these since Cold war supposedly ended.

So if United States continue to arm herself why Russia shouldn't do same? Double standards?

I want freedom for the world, but not at the cost of breaking America or having America fight endless wars like that of British Empire and the Romans. How many years of real peace has America known in its history? Is the world any better for all our interventions with the exception of World War I&II? I exclude those conflict because even an isolationist like myself realizes there are moments in history where there is a true call to arms. We may very well be at such a moment in this current era. When men no longer listen to reason, reason must be imposed upon them. This might be the case in the Muslim world.

What's better: bloody sh*t or shi*ty blood? For this is the nature of the difference between reddish browns and brownish reds.

Russia doesn't have to go back to Communism to play another Cold War. The only thing they need are dictatorship, Neo-Nazi government, and/or diplomacy supporting enemy countries of US.

"Is Russia about to declare alliance, militarily, with IRAN?"

No, they prefer an alliance without a declaration.
