Hands off, then, for Islam. Don't mess with that crowd. The rest of us, by contrast, are open to cleansing and even ridicule.
Who thought this day would come, when a biblical story is consigned to the heaping Sheol of political correctness? I did, and I'll bet you did.

I saw all of 12 seconds of it, and it reminded me of a junior high school play.

...also, in this drama, Pharaoh comes off better than Moses, really....That's completely untrue. Our family just finished watching Part II tonight. We found it very moving and Dougray Scott did an excellent job, as Moses.

I saw about an hour, beginning just at the end of the Amalekite battle. It was abysmal. Unwatchable. I finally had to stop the torture and turn the channel. Life is just too short to waste it on such dribble.

...and don't forget the National Geographic producutions that describe the building of the pyramids without ever EVER saying the word "Jew".

And Charlton Heston looked Jewish? No, but at least he portrayed Moses as a Hebrew, instead of whitewashing the whole subject.

Who doesn't know that Moses was Hewbrew? The millions of people flocking to see the De Vinci Code.
To: Always Right
Well, I beg to differ on that one.

Well, I beg to differ on that one. Why, you think the followers of the De Vinci Code are clueless?
To: IrishMike
Watch the original with Heston - it was on Saturday night. That film leaves no doubt as to the Jews leaving Egypt, being God's chosen people. Nary a Muslim in sight!

It's a bit anachronistic to call Moses Jewish. He was an Israelite, but the term "Jews" doesn't come into use until centuries later. I'm not sure if the term (Greek Ioudaioi, Latin Judaei) arises from Judah as a tribe or Judaea as a region (the earlier kingdom of Judah)...the two groups would be largely the same, except that as a territory it would include members of the other tribes (Moses was from the tribe of Levi).
To: IrishMike
Pardon this slightly off topic question. Egyptians enslaved the Jews. Blacks insist that the ancient Egyptians were black. Do Blacks owe Jews reparations?
