It must be the vodka effect. That thing was crudely made boat anchor. Give me an M14 any day.

Aye!

AK-47 ... "It was first introduced back in 1947, based on 'asistance' from captured German engineers (remember the MP44) with some Soviet assistance from 'Mike' Kalashnikov."

Kalashnikov is a bit bigger, in his estimation, than many others think.

Just do a search on M-16 vs AK-47.

No he's right. The AK is a POS accuracy wise, but it does hit harder, will go through walls that an M16 won't and will continue to fire in situations the M16 won't. For Urban Combat overall the AK is a far better weapon.

actually he has a point.

Consider, his rifle may not be so accurate or long range BUT it is good for the soldier who is not doing maintenance or does not want to deal with the discipline of accuracy.

Consider how that region does not maintain the weapons they buy.

Having shot both AR-15 and (semi-auto) AK, I agree with him, for the case of urban combat. At ranges over 100 yards, I would take the AR-15 (then again, at ranges over 100 yards I would prefer something in 7.62 NATO).

The AK has a deserved reputation of reliable cycling under any conditions. When you're looking at an armed bad guy 10 feet away, that's kind of important
