As someone who has liked Newt, I'm extremely disappointed. I just hope his predictions don't come true. One area I'm afraid Tony may NOT be right, is that I DO think there are tipping points. Politics is slow but it does move swiftly when the right focal point is reached. (e.g., the 1994 House recapture, etc.) I am worried that Katrina was one such point; there are others. I'm convinced the President is doing the best he can but it's not being sold and at some point the water on the see-saw gets too heavy and it goes down. What I'm worried about now is that even when we try to communicate it's getting harder for people to listen. I HOPE they are seeing how ridiculous the DUmmies are being but there is an awful lot of anxiety out there. But REMEMBER: if we LET the DUmmies win in '06, we'll have impeachment of the President for the next two years followed by Hillary(?) after.
