damn good find. I have been searching for three day for this info.
You my FRiend are part of that crack team.
So how DO you hide the resignations of 24 generals? Well, you don't announce the resignations en masse; you spread them out over several months. Which is just what happened. Less than a half dozen of the vacated positions were refilled
OH WAIT THAT WAS DURING THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION.
NEVERMIND
Here is a post I made yesterday

"He pointed out (accurately) that the generals served at the pleasure of the President and should not be grading their superiors"
Yesterday .. my local radio guy was talking with Lieutenant Colonel Scott Rutter about the generals and their comments
He was not at all happy with what they said .. especially since we are at war .. he listed a whole slew of reasons .... he said respected their service to our country ... but said they were wrong to speak against the CIC like they did because they are retired generals who could be called back into service at any time if they were needed
He also made a comment about one of the generals that caught my attention .. I can't remember the generals name ... but he was was in Iraq the same time he (Rutter) was
Anyhow .. Rutter said that when he first heard about these comments it surprised him ... he said it was completely different from what the general said and acted like when they were in Iraq
Rutter said .. if this general had such a problem .. why didn't he say something then

You are right about the National Guard. I have a very good friend at work (One of the few Conservatives with me here in San Francisco) and he has had two long deployments in Kosovo and Iraq. It has been tough on his family, and his career (although the company has stuck by him). He is an interrogator and speaks Farsi, and a great patriot. But his wife is pressuring him to retire when he becomes eligible in a few months. I hate to see the National Guard losing good men like him!
F14 mode?? ;>)
You also decimate the miliatry by a few divisions. Remember that you don't promote unless there is a job. When you cut the number of ships by 300, a few admirals loose their jobs
