(Note to all: I'm off to bed, just wanted to get this up for the morning crew who might have missed it)
[But when he subsequently stated that he would not join today's military, he made clear to the majority of us that he is out of touch with the troops.]
Murtha is not only out of touch with the troops but he crossed a very profound line. How dare he say he speaks for our military when he says he would not join to serve along side the thousands of brave men and women now serving.
You give Murtha too much credit. He has burned any bridges he may have ever had. The idea that he would visit soldiers at Walter Reed after publically saying, in so many words, that their sacrifices are worthless is beyond credibilty. He doesnt have the nads to face soldiers and Marines who have answered the call and come home either unhurt or otherwise. When he did at that town hall meeting, he sat mute and stone silent, words escaping his feeble mind.
I have nothing but contempt for him, utter disdain, total disgust that he would act as a shill and puppet for the likes of Cindy Sheehan, the modern Jane Fonda.
