April Peeps should be eaten in late May.
LOL!!LOL!!
Thanks for your post, it might help some here of a certain persuasion to open their eyes.
Nope, actually ham became a tradition in Northern Europe only for practical reasons. We eat lamb on Pascha, for symbolic reasons, though even ham is yummy after being off all animal products (except shellfish, and fish on Annunciation day and Palm Sunday) for 49 days.
Nope, same legal father, not same mother.
Jesus siblings were Joseph's children by Salome, his first wife. The Blessed Theotokos, Mary, is Ever-Virgin.
In the East we remember these things. After all, St. James was our first Bishop of Jerusalem.
This thread seems like it would be more appropriate on the Relgion Forum.
Miss Grammar might edit the above to read, 'David also programmed computers, designed, and analyzed security systems.'
It's very nasty to do computer programming!
LOL! Beat me to it!!!!
We in the West (Latin rite), remember these things too. :-)
The King James Version was derived ultimately from the greek (Aramaic) and the greek manuscripts use the word PASCHA.

Regardless, the events of the Crucifixtion and Ressurrection, Ascension and Session are all fundamental in basic understanding of our Lord's history. Pagan and even any uneducated or doctoral thesis on the issue other than those basics, misses the significance of faith in Christ and one's eternal destiny. The Passover is far more significant with respect to the work of Christ on the Cross than any and all pagan aspirations.
I agree that it says passover...what I don't agree to is which. I haven't really studied this enough yet as to why the writers put this word down, but I do know that this could not have been the real passover. They would have kept him in jail for a year.
Thanks for the link.
I'm not as much an expert on the definitive timeline as perhaps I should be. From my perspective, there are far too many correlations in OT Prophecy which were fulfilled by the time being the Passover than to argue otherwise. If an apparant contradiction arises, I suspect to err on the side of Prophecy and Divine Revelation would be more trustworthy than appealing to pagan counterfeits for any access to God.
Additional significance occurs in the timeline after His death on the Cross. Ressurrection after 3 days, 40 days on earth, then 10 days after His ascension, the Feast of Pentecost and the beginning of the Church Age, indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Other than the flood and Creation, and what lies ahead, those 60 days had to have been some of the most significant in all human history.
(Amazes me how some people are only preoccupied with chocolate rabbits and allusions to anything pagan.)
That is the most disgusting pagan-loving blasphemy ever posted here.
These correlations are very important...that is why we must keep God's word intact...in this case in English.
If we don't, then we get guys like Spong and groups like this:

It is pagan to say the Theotokos is Ever-Virgin? You have an interesting view of history and theology.
I have to laugh the above is well, since it is all too close to the truth.
The "one world religion" the antiChrist will set up will include some stuff that sounds Christian in the mishmash...
Not just anti-Catholic!
That depends.....
