This guy will be sentenced to death, and will live on in prison for how long? For crimes like this, where the guilt is so obvious, he should live about a week IMHO.

anyone want to tell me why we should bother with a trial for this piece of garbage?

Makes me think slow roasting over a stake would be too humane.

The poor parents of this little innocent will never overcome the nightmares - This thing should not be allowed to continue breathing air one more day

Maybe not for long.
He's a certifiable idiot...to not have moved to VT, MA, or OH in hopes of
getting one of their nutty judges (as profiled on O'Reilly's show).

Case in point: IIRC, it was a pastor at a church in Western Oklahoma
(Alva?) that got convicted of being a little too friendly with a
young girl while "helping her with the computer".

He was sentenced to a term of some years in the pen, but was terminated
by a fellow inmate after only a year or two in prison.

They should cook this guy on low -- until his hair catches fire.

from mayhem.net-
Serial killers tend to be white, heterosexual males in their twenties and thirties who are sexually dysfunctional and have low self-esteem. Their methodical rampages are almost always sexual in nature. Their killings are usually part of an elaborate fantasy that builds to a climax at the moment of their murderous outburst. Serial killers generally murder strangers with cooling off periods between each crime. Many enjoy cannibalism, necrophilia and keep trophy-like body parts as mementos of their work. Serial killers are sadistic in nature.

Was discussed a little yesterday, no grisly details had been released by the cops. This characterization of Purcell by his neighbors as seemingly perfectly normal, just an ordinary Joe, shouldn't come as a surprise. Monsters do live next door. Child molesters and in this case, a child killer, hide in plain sight, in positions of trust and authority if they can manage it. The account of horrific events, neighbors' comments, all so bizarre, it's unbelievable.

Before I run off for the afternoon--You can check out his blog here.

From BunnySlippers' #151 on this thread:

For example, my fantasies are just getting weirder and weirder. Dangerously weird. If people knew the kinds of things I think about anymore, I'd probably be locked away. No probably about it, I know I would be.

There is other very strange, very disturbing material on his blog. He actually had several, but some I notice are no longer there.

...should live about a week..."--absolutely correct.

The reality--will be pleaded insane and could, conceivably, be out of a mental inst. and back amongst us within 5 to 7 year.

I'm thinking meth. Look at all the pimples around his neck.
However, he is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

How did they catch him?? What made them suspect him?

Poor little kid. First the little girl here in Tulsa, now this...both killed by guys in their own area.

Yep, he's been on medication, posting nutty stuff in his blog for a while now.

Set himself up nice and tidy in advance for an insanity plea.

Saturday, Chief David Tompkins and Kuykendall said a number of items seized from Underwood’s apartment over the weekend indicated he was planning to consume part or all of Bolin’s body after he killed her and removed her head. He allegedly killed Underwood by beating her head three to four times with a wooden cutting board and smothering her with his hands and duct tape, said Tompkins. Additionally, it appeared Underwood had attempted to remove Bolin’s head with a decorative dagger, which was also seized.

“Regarding a potential motive, this appears to have been part of a plan to kidnap a person, rape them, torture them, kill them, cut off their head, drain the body of blood, rape the corpse, eat the corpse, then dispose of the organs and bones,” said Tompkins. Quietly collecting a number of items seized at the apartment, including a hacksaw, meat tenderizer, barbecue skewers, and a duffle bag, Underwood told investigators he’d “fantasized about cannibalism for about a year now,” Tompkins said Saturday.

Geez, aren't cops usually a little more tight-lipped about gory details like that, out of respect for the family if nothing else? I don't remember reading quite a graphic description from a public police source before.

He said he had to get everything out in the open because there were rumors that were even worse than what happened--although it's hard to imagine rumors being worse than the truth in this case. He said he didn't want it held back from the family (they'd have learned it elsewhere anyway) and that he even told the perp's family so they'd know, too. Last we've heard, there is no lawyer yet, but I'm sure there will be one by tomorrow.

Just once, I'd like to see the media interview the neighbors after they catch one of these psychos and hear them say, "Oh, him -- he was a total @$$#0!& who never fit in at all. Good riddance."
