That's how the US ended up bombing the Chinese embassy in the Baltic.

I heard it differently-that there was a stealth "expert" at the Embassy,who was tracking the F-117s and reporting them to the Serbs. The "accidental bombing" was a silencing measure. Of couurse, that would be a radical departure from the militarily spineless Clinton, and too machiavellian and smart for the likes of Clark, so the story remains suspect..

The story I remember hearing is that the reason the building was bombed is that a resistance group used to be in the building, but had moved out years before and the Chinese had moved in. Nobody updated the list, and ...BAM.

And it sounds more likely to me than the Clinton administration doing anything to alienate a potential campaign donor.
