It's not limited to black Americans. I know of businesses that have trouble hiring unskilled labor of any kind, unless they go to the Hispanic labor pool.
It's very strange.
In my teens and college years, myself and most of my pals did everything from dishwashing to paper routes to housepainting to summer construction jobs.
How do kids make money these days?
Most of these immigrants are supporting families.
They have a desire to maintain the family.
They help their children learn a trade.
Family units are badly needed in inner city neighborhoods.
Kids don't. Their parents enroll them in soccer camps, swim camps, computer courses, and volunteer programs. Those activities count more on college applications.

Every year I was in college I did concrete and asphalt work in the summers to help pay for tuition. Hard, hot, dirty work.
That wasn't a job Americans wouldn't do...at least not back then.
I imagine ther are a lot more hispanic gangs than black gangs. The second generation hispanic likes TV, ipods, cars, hanging around on street corners, and does dope also. Some of you are going to be in for a huge surprise in a few years.
