I'm an atheist and I cringed seeing that picture. It's such an arbitrary parody at a figure of importance to most Americans on this weekend which is most sacred to them.

Her son's death is no longer a shock to her, though it will always be a wound, so this is not out of "shock" at her son's death, but calculation meant to get those cameras pointing at her. She can justify this to herself by claiming the war and "Bush's lies" are such important issues, but to do so by politicizing Christ on THIS of all weekends shows a profoundly self-centered woman who can't see beyond her own view of the world.

She can pose at her son's grave for a Vanity Fair photo shoot, but that's not enough; now she has to appropriate the symbols millions in this country hold dear, whatever their view of the war, to repeat her message, which has already gotten through, repeatedly. What an insensitive, selfish, obnoxious ghoul.
