Haha! Looks like we did a commerative bombing according to the story.

About 40 people, including an adopted daughter of Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, were killed in the raids on Tripoli and Benghazi in the early hours of April 15, 2006.

You mean we killed her again? Wonder if we hit the French embassy again by "accident."

I was active duty USAF at the time of the raid, stationed at Nellis. We had visiting RAF mechanics working in our shop, and a visiting French unit there as well. The French would sit in the break area, smoking their stinky cigarettes and not lift a finger to help around the shop. The Brits, on the other hand, were helping us with maintenance, cleaning up, everything.

This British Sergeant and I are mopping the shop floor near the break area, and he's going on real loud about the raid - "Excellent job your pilots did, mate." "Pity the bloody Frogs wouldn't let you overfly their country, your pilots wouldn't have been so tired that they hit the embassy by accident with a laser guided bomb." The French got ticked off and stomped off out of the shop.

I turned to the RAF Sergeant and told him thanks - because that's how I was feeling, but couldn't say it. He says "I know you can't say that kind of thing, Bob - but I can, because I can't stand the bloody stupid Frogs, and neither can my commander."
