Are these generals hold overs from the Kinton regime and have some sort of axe to grind?

A typical excuse that holds ZERO truth. These officers served under Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush1, Clinton and Bush2. The problem is Rumsfeld ... he was and is .... WRONG! Active duty Generals did speak up and Rumsfeld insulted them and the army .... publicly and often. People here on FR would claim that they knew nothing .... that they were Clinton hold overs ....

Rumsfeld is trying to complete the mistakes he many over thirty years ago. Then he left the military in a shambles and those "Hold overs" took that destroyed military and made it into the best in the world. We don't need Rumsfeld to destroyed it.

Sorry but when Casey, Franks and dozens of other Generals say these guys are full of crap, kind of obvious this is a staged PR stunt, not a serious commentary. Sorry but you Neo Isolationists simply need to grow up. Your world view failed us and lead to 9-11. You cannot hide you head up your rear and wish this all away.

Good morning.
"These officers served under Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush1, Clinton and Bush2."

These officers all got their commissions in the later years of the Vietnam war. They mostly made flag grade under Clinton and bounced around the DOD and Command units, like CENTCOM, in the clinton area. Most took part in clinton's war in Bosnia and some in clinton's destruction of the effort in Somalia. They formed their opinions while gaining field grade rank and up. They reflect the opinions of the administration that ruled at that time.

You are refusing to recognize that fact and you blame Rumsfeld for doing what clinton did. The unspoken inference is that Bush is to blame. The generals are supporting the DNC agenda. So are you and some others here.

As I put my Eric Shitsacki-approved Black Beanie on and ponder his idea that 'the Army will never need tracked vehicles again'.....

When I look at the dumb-ass Stryker vehicle with the superstructures of steel added on 'cuz nobody ever thought of RPGs....

When I ponder PFC Lunch and her jammed weapon....

When I put a cigarette in my mouth and 'do the Lynndie' pointing at my passed-out friend as a joke....

When I hear any speech by Weaselly Clark....

I realize that Sec Rumsfeld has good reason to scourge the Army in particular: It's been F'ed up for a while now. He's right. We have to do better. We have to be more effective.

I've been in 14 years now--my first enlistment into ROTC was 1986--I had a break in service--Sometimes I'm not very proud of the Army. I think it needs to be shook up.

Watching these perfumed princes sniping at the Sec. after the most successful military campaign in human history looks real stupid.
