A Pentagon memo released on Friday states that there are over 8,000 active duty and retired general officers (900 are on active duty). And all they could come up with was these six.

I feel as though I've been Clockwerked Orange by the 24/7 NEGATIVE coverage over the past 4 years. Apparently you feel it has been fine and the conduct of the Dems has been responsible. Different Opinions Joe.

BTW way I did a few Budget drills in Military. The requirements percolate up through the various forces and syscoms. The Flags and Secretaries prioritize the requirements which go into the budget. The funding issue is a civilian leadership one. Bottomline...If the Flags don't make it a high priority it won't get funded

Understand, I'm not on the media side here. And they have been wrong too many times. But they've also been right on bad things we've done way too many times too.

It's not that I find the conduct of the Dems as being responsible. My pet peeve is when our side whines about how we're treated, but find comfort when we return that treatment. We whine when Sam Donaldoson scores one against a conservative, but applaud when Britt Hume or Sean Hannity lands a punch.

We applauded Tom Delay when he attack our reasons for being in Kosovo, but wince when Harry Reid questions Iraq because it harms the morale of the troops. Either way, it could, key word could, harm morale on the mission currently under way.

As for military budgets, you're absolutely right....to a point. They do percolate up. But that's why we have "leaders" in elected positions. To question when it appears too much or too little. Apparently, our side didn't question the too little in the 90's. Probably basking in the Peace Dividend. In addition, I lived in John Kasichs district. He was famous for pointing out pork, including military pork for projects that the military didn't want but had foisted upon them, often by our side. If we were worried about armour and the military hadn't requested it, then why wasn't it porked on them?
