I've slaughtered animals and hunted a number as well. So I don't like cats. You are actually so sensitized that you want my comments deleted? Are you serious?

Have we became so weak? I grew up on a farm; I field dressed a number of critters. Sensitivity, are you serious?

Probably some psychotic teenage twit whose parents don't have a clue what he does in his spare time.

The difference that you have obviously missed or are unable to grasp was the word 'torture' which Dahmer did to animals before he moved on to humans.

I have known cows and I have known cats, the cows are more personable and loyal.

Yea, right, you have obviously never raised or milked cows or you would not make such a statement and since I have, I can dispute that statement.

I have owned and raised cows. In California. Not some ratty nasty state where the cattle are all inbred.

I have owned, raised and milked them in Penna and none of the were inbred.

Now you're talking. If we judge every story by "is it more important than the abortion rates" no story would get posted or replied to.

I agree, if you don't like hearing about this story, or think it's not important, move along.

>>Where we live leash laws apply to ALL domestic pets. NO ONE leashes their cats, however. So, they get in trouble killing birds and baby squirrels, pooping in bunkers, leaving foot print and claw scratches on cars.

Same here. I scare the crap out of un-belled cats (pretty much all of them) I find wandering through my yard. Would never hurt or kill one, though.

I hope they find the sick idiots that are doing this and punish them severely.

If he shot the cat for fun, sure.

But if that cat was like the stray that used to jump on my new car in my backyard, leaving scratches in the fenders, then I don't blame him.

I wonder if the owner in CA violated leash laws by letting his cat roam?

Where we live leash laws apply to ALL domestic pets, but a lot of cat owners ignore that law.

Whether or not one likes cats, this is inexcusable.

Actually, I think the guy misunderstood me. I wrote that because someone was making an immigration thread about this, kind of the way every thread became a Terry Schavio thread. I guess that subject was a poor thing to use as an illustration.

why does the article automatically assume it was a prank, and that it was done for fun? personally i think you should either kill it or leave it alone, not maim and leave it for dead, but what's to say that it wasn't someone sick of the cat being destructive on their property and treated it the way the rest of us treat other destructive varmints? its just the this guy was a lousy shot.
or if this cat was like some cats i've known, its even possible that thru carelessness, it did it to itself.

"pooping in bunkers" exactly what does that mean? As far as killing baby squirrels and birds, ok, some birds are nice but squirrels are tree rats and anyway, no prey species is healthy unless there are a few preditors in the neighborhood. I've never seen a cat scratch a car and for a few feline footprints on a car, you would sanction shooting them with arrows to suffer a slow and painful death? You need serious psychiatric help.

... and anyone like YOU who thinks MORE about a stupid cat than they do a human counts for even LESS in MY book!

They need not be mutually exclusive.
